Andreas Habermeyer is a multifaceted, award-winning media-agnostic filmmaker.
He studied Film and Economics at the Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich, the University of Television and Film in Munich (HFF), UCLA in Los Angeles, and the EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs).
As a producer, his work has earned him more than 35 national and international awards. He gained experience in different departments within the Major US Film Studios, from PA to PM, from 1st AD to line producer. He has worked for Steven Spielberg´s Amblin Entertainment, Columbia Pictures (USA & Germany), Lorimar Studios/Sony Pictures and Constantin Film.
Since 1981, Andreas has worked in the movie business and TV productions, producing more than 1,000 commercials and corporate films. His short film, “For a Good Reason,” was nominated for an OSCAR and received a Gold and Silver Medal at the New York Film Festival. In 2009, Andreas moved to the Republic of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. He opened his One-Stop-Shop Film Production, IDENTICAL PICTURES, MediaVision Film Equipment Rental and the International Film School (IFS), Mauritius.
In 2016, he co-produced and service-produced the very first Hollywood feature film to shoot in Mauritius, SERENITY with Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Diane Lane, Jason Clarke, and Djimon Hounsou, directed and written by Steven Knight. In 2019, Andreas executive-produced the movie “Effacer L’Historique (Delete History)” in Mauritius, which received the SILVER BEAR special prize at the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival. In 2020 and 2021, Andreas Habermeyer’s Identical Pictures co and service-produced the first Netflix Movie on Mauritius Island, “Resort to Love”, and Netflix “Honeymoon with my Mother”. In 2022, Andreas Habermeyer was contracted as a Service producer for the Bollywood movie “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar”, directed by Luv Ranjan and in 2023, Andreas received his first Netflix India movie “The Archies”, directed by Zoya Akhtar.
Andreas collaborated with photographers such as David LaChapelle and Mario Testino on high-end photo productions.
Andreas Habermeyer is the President of the Mauritian Motion Picture Forum.
