“Lovers” nominated for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival
Congratulation to Nicole Garcia for the nomination for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival for “Lovers” mainly filmed in Mauritius (November 2018 – April 2019).
Nicole Garcia’s new Film “LOVERS (Lisa Redler)” is nominated for Best Film at the 77th Venice Film Festival. This year it will be Nicole Garcia who will represent France in the Official Competition with “LOVERS“, starring Pierre Niney, Stacy Martin, Benoît Magimel. LOVERS is Nicole Garcia’s ninth feature film. Lovers was shot mainly in Mauritius. The 77th Venice International Film Festival is organized by “La Biennale di Venezia” and will be held on the Lido di Venezia from 2 to 12 September 2020. Venice Film Festival is the world’s oldest film festival, and one of the “Big Three” film festivals, alongside the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival.
Produced by Les Films Pelléas and Mars Films, “Lovers” is set in Paris and Mauritius follows Lisa, who, while on vacation with her husband, rekindles a passionate affair with her ex-boyfriend. But that may lead to murder. Martin stars with Benoit Magimel (“Marseille”) and Pierre Niney (“Yves Saint Laurent”).
