During an extraordinary 4-day shoot, our crew embarked on an inspiring journey through the heart of Mauritius for “Special Order: Gilead – Stories of the Cure.” This moving documentary sheds light on the incredible work of Dr. Zaid Heetun, a Mauritian hepatologist, and his team, as they tackle the chronic hepatitis epidemic in our beautiful island nation.
From bustling hospitals to methadone dispensaries, and alongside dedicated NGOs fighting for the same cause, our crew captured the real stories and emotions that lie at the core of this health crisis. Witnessing the unwavering commitment of healthcare heroes was both humbling and uplifting, as they strived to create a positive impact on the lives of those affected.

In April 2023, Identical Pictures had the privilege of serving as a Service Film Production provider alongside Art & Sciences, a London-based film production company, for Euromillions – UK National Lottery television commercial (TVC). The TVC was directed by the famous television commercial director Tim McNaughton, known as one of “The Bobbsey Twins,” and DOP Alex Barber, who is renowned in the industry. We had the pleasure of collaborating with Producer Emma Butterworth and Production Manager Kelly Brown on this project.
Furthermore, we were thrilled to team up once again with internationally renowned Production Designer Jon Henson, who had previously worked with us on a British Airways TV commercial in the past year with Anonymous Content. The legendary and award-winning choreographer Richard Marcel joined us for the TV commercial shoot. Of Mauritian descent and based in the UK, returning to his home country after many years was an emotional and significant experience for Richard, making the project even more meaningful to him. In addition to choreographing numerous well-known TV commercials and music videos, Richard has worked on films such as Kick-Ass 2, Cuban Fury, and The Wedding Video.
The shoot took place over four days in four stunning locations in Mauritius. Among the locations where we filmed was the luxurious Villa Charlotte at Anahita Golf and Spa Resort on the east coast of Mauritius, and a lavish villa at the Shangri-La le Touessrok Resort which had a beautiful white sand beach.
Additionally, we shot on a picturesque long jetty in front of Le Meridien Resort, where the day ended with an unforgettable sunset. On the final shooting day, we captured footage in various locations at the stunning Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius in Balaclava, which was followed by a well-deserved wrap party.

“The Dream Ship” sets sail again. On Easter Sunday, numerous guest stars such as Wolfgang Stumph set off in the direction of Mauritius.
“Das Traumschiff” sets course for Mauritius on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, at 8:15 p.m. on ZDF. In addition to the crew around Captain Max Parger (Florian Silbereisen, 40), there are also numerous guest stars on board.
Wolfgang Stumph, 76, will appear in the new issue, as will Helmut Zierl, 67, Janina Hartwig, 60, Andreas Hoppe, 61, Arabella Kiesbauer, 52, Paola Maria, 28, Vivien Wulf, 28, and Marc Barthel, 32 .
As usual, Barbara Wussow, 60, will also set sail as hotel director Hanna Liebhold, ship’s doctor Dr. Jessica Delgado played by Collien Ulmen-Fernandes, 40, and Daniel Morgenroth, 58, in the role of staff captain Martin Grimm. In the upcoming “Traumschiff” edition, the focus is, among other things, on the ship’s doctor, who is apparently not exactly happy that her father Bernd (Stumph) is also going on the trip. They have a rather strained relationship.

On the dream islands of the Indian Ocean, ZDF reporter Norms Odenthal gets to know people who are at peace with themselves. Who have found the right place for themselves. And who do something to ensure that this place remains liveable.
Anna, who as Conservation Manager is responsible for the renaturation of a Seychelles island. Hans-Joachim, who doesn’t want to waste a second of his life and at the age of 63 is full of energy – in paragliding or as an art sponsor. Dinesh, the jockey on the verge of winning the Grand Championship in Mauritius horse racing. Amir, the Maldives businessman who is defying all odds of the pandemic.
Norms Odenthal is there when Anna discovers the first Hawksbill sea turtle: the endangered animals come ashore to lay their eggs. Every animal counts. They are the last of their kind. Anna also takes care of underwater survival. Temperatures there have continued to rise in recent years. Corals have died off en masse. It has turned desolate and gray in the Indian Ocean. But there is hope. The team has grown corals, their growth is stimulated with electrical pulses. The effort is enormous, but it’s worth it: life under water is slowly returning. Hans-Joachim sounds more German than he is. Born in Leipzig, his mother was German and his father Algerian. But soon the family moved to France and Hans-Joachim eventually to the wide world. “I fled civilization,” he says. Mauritius has become his new home and he is in the right place. Hans-Joachim needs exercise, he goes paragliding and kite surfing. Corona and a tough lockdown robbed him of his freedom for a while, but he’s now taking it back.
Hans-Joachim lives intensively. And Mauritius with its unique landscape gives him everything he needs. The Maldives are threatened: the flat islands could simply disappear if the water continues to rise. The future is at stake. But the present is also uncomfortable. Tourism is only slowly picking itself up, Corona was a heavy blow. The conditions for Amir’s business were better in the past, but he won’t be defeated. His company imports groceries, but hardly anything is produced on the islands themselves. He used to earn his money as a tennis pro. And from this time he took his motto with him: Never give up!
